As a parent, I was always excited to talk to my daughters about their day, however, their usual response was "fine". It didn't take me long to realize if I wanted details about their day, I needed to change how I asked my questions. Check back each Wednesday for the "Question of the week". It will be specific to what we are learning about in class. To help open the lines of communication ask your student:
Did you vote for the winning structure? (Monday) Where did your class travel today? (Tuesday) Who is your special author this month? (first Wednesday of the month) What is your favorite special author book so far? (Wednesday) Did you like making the art project this afternoon? (Thursday) What science experiment did you do today? (Friday) Good luck! |
