I guess I didn't look as "dwarfy" as I thought I did! Not one of the students knew who I was (some of them were still confused after I told them). I guess Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs isn't relevant anymore?

On Tuesday, Kindergarten had firefighters, ambulances, and police officers come for a visit. PreK was GREEN with envy to say the least. When they raised the rescue ladder, all of a sudden our field trip to the fire station was forgotten! We couldn't wait to be in Kindergarten.
Some of the students chose to engineer a solution to save Humpty Dumpty on Friday. After several unsuccessful attempts (shells do not soften the fall), the students came up with a plan and were able to try with a REAL egg.
The students used an upside down hat (so he wouldn't roll away) and stuffed crushed up paper, Kleenex, and a plastic bag into the hat to soften the fall. It worked! If Humpty would have had your children around at the point of the fall, he would have survived. During our small group math lesson, we "ran out of paper". I told the students that we would just have to find a different way to draw our shapes. Shaving cream on the table makes a wonderful sheet of paper! By Friday, I wasn't fooling anyone...they knew my trick!
