In PreK, we are building community by supporting each other, helping others and learning about how people celebrate. We will spend our last few weeks of 2018 celebrating the season of giving. During center time, the students built their own community! What rule did this group have to play with their creation? Don't knock it down! I think they came up with a good rule. You can build more, use any car, play any game, just don't break our creation that we worked so long to build. Thank you to Mrs. Christopher for spending time in our class today to teach us about Hanukkah. We learned about the menorah, played a game with dreidels and ate chocolate coins. Thank you to our room moms for organizing a classroom canned food drive. Due to a miscommunication on the school calendar, several other classes donated to our cause too. We collected 101 cans!

Students built a wetu during small groups this week. We used our engineering and interpersonal skills, although all you will hear at home is "we played with the yellow things". Here's a glimpse into what "the yellow things" are.
We had a new friend at recess on Friday. He was little, green and fast. We ended us releasing him past the playground fence.
