Our music with movement went "old school" today.
On Tuesday, we were invited to walk through a living history museum at our school celebrating Black History Month. The students recognized the name Martin Luther King Jr and Langston Hughes (we read some of his poetry when we studied Benny Andrews). I promised them we would listen to music from "the lady in the pink dress" and "the person with the red jacket" and today was the day. We danced to Think by Aretha Franklin and Wanna be Starting Something by Michael Jackson. I even taught them how to moon walk (or my version of a moon walk). Have them show you :) I'm sure they will do as great of a job as I did!
