Our field trip to the farm was a huge success! It was great to hear the kids making connections from what they learn in school and applying it to real life. Although I think some of them were most impressed with the bus ride!
My favorite conversation this week was when four of the students were retelling the Three Little Pigs story. They were given puppets, straw, sticks (pipe cleaners) and bricks (blocks) to act out the story. The first student "built" her house of straw, then the big bad wolf came and blew it down! Straw went everywhere. I was scared, "Oh no! A wolf! What will the little pig do next?". She did not say, run to the next pig's house. She said, in a very matter of fact kind of way, "Clean it (the straw) up". I legitimately laughed out loud! I love PreK!
