We are learning about solids, liquids and gasses this week. We learned hand signals to show how the particles move.
See if you child can remember: Solids (interlace fingers with palms together and hold tight - the particles in solids are very rigid and closely packed together) Liquid (if you remember the "roll them up" gesture from pat-a-cake you can show the liquid signal...liquid particles slide past one another and will take the shape of whatever container they are in) Gas (it was a class favorite...jazz hands - gasses expand freely and escape from open containers)
