Did your child bring home a sticky substance on Friday (three students did not want to take it home)? We made rubber globs in STEM! Each student stirred glue and most decided it was boring. THEN...we added the science crystals (borax and water) and the magic began to happen. "It's sticking!" "It feels slippery." "Gross, it's slimy." Most of the students were willing to pull the sticky, slimy substance off of the stick and roll it around in their hands. The substance became less sticky and we could even bounce it on the table! I think it was my favorite activity we have done thus far. Pre-K students are great scientists and curiosity runs high in this group!
