We had such a clever day on Friday! Students found multiple ways to represent the number 5.
If you ask the children what we did in math, they will probably say, "We played with blocks", however, they were practicing the early concepts of addition. Students had 5 blocks and were tasked with coming up with as many different ways to make 5 as they could. 0 blocks and 5 blocks 1 block and 4 blocks 2 blocks and 3 blocks 3 blocks and 2 blocks 4 blocks and 1 block 5 blocks and 0 blocks We even had one student who broke the blocks into 5 separate pieces.
